The good folks at Stolzfus RV in Pennsylvania are showing this 2011 hybrid trailer. Hybrid trailers are a mix of a popup trailer and a travel trailer. Hybrid trailers have full kitchens and baths, but the beds extend with tenting, similarly to a popup camper.

An RV with a hard side that weighs only 350 pounds? Yup, and it folds down when you're on the road, and sets up in a minute. Check out this Aliner 400 camper from Columbia Northwest. This wouldn't be a good RV choice for a family, but for one or two people of modest size, this might fit the bill.

Now, this must be the definitively easiest pop up trailer to set up. The entire process takes about 30 seconds, and there is no time-lapse photography involved. The Kamperoo is manufactured in Canada and weighs a mere 700 pounds, which means it can be towed by even the smallest vehicles. The Kamperoo is distributed throughout North America. It's a barebones RV, for sure, but for some folks it's all that's necessary to get inside and off the ground.

Pop ups are easy to set up, although not quite as fast as you'll see in this short video. Here, the entire process takes two minutes, but that's with the video running at five times the real-life speed. Still, you can imagine from this video how easily the process is, even in real time.

Here's an excellent overview of pop up campers (also called pop up trailers) from Don Mills, who has been in the RV business selling them for 35 years. Here, he talks about what he calls the "modern pop up camper" and the low-profile ("micro") pop up camper. He shows you a variety of popups from those with two queen sized beds to compact models that can be pulled by small cars or even motorcycles. If you interested in buying a pop up camper, then this ten-minute video is well worth watching.
